Education and Training

Dr. Seow-Choen graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and obtained his higher surgical qualifications in 1987. He subsequently sub-specialised in colorectal surgery in 1989 where he worked with the world-class surgeons of St Marks’ Hospital in London. Dr. Seow-Choen then returned and helped establish the first colorectal surgery department in Asia at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Dr. Seow-Choen has established himself in the field of colorectal surgery. In particular, he is leading the development of colorectal surgery in Asia and has frequently conducted trainings in a number of countries, including the USA, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Indian, Pakistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. He is frequently consulted by surgeons from all over the world with regard to the best method of handling difficult cases.

Education and Training

Dr. Ho graduated from National University of Singapore in 1993. He obtained his Master of Medicine in Surgery from National University of Singapore in 1998 and also became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the same year. He completed his training in general surgery in 2002. He went to Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2002 for his fellowship and has been subspecialising in colorectal surgery since he completed his general surgery training.

Dr. Ho has a special interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery. He performs laparoscopic (keyhole) colon and rectum surgeries as well as numerous single incision port (single keyhole) colon and rectum surgery. He is also one of the very few surgeons in Singapore accredited to do Robotic Colorectal Surgery.
Dr. Ho’s other area of interest is in advanced therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) including the use of colon stents in the relief of symptoms from complications of colon cancer. He is also an expert in anal diseases, such as hemorrhoids (piles), anal fistula, anal fissures and abscesses.

Education and Training

Dr. Koh received advanced training in surgical treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases in Edinburgh, UK (2002 – 2003) as well as the renowned Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA (2006 – 2007) through a HMDP Scholarship funded by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. In 2010, Dr. Koh was awarded a second HMDP Scholarship to pursue further training on “Clinical Gene Testing and Personalized Medicine in Colorectal Cancer Management”.

Dr. Koh’s surgical expertise relates to the use of minimally-invasive laparoscopic as well as robotics-assisted techniques for disorders of the colon and rectum, with emphasis on sphincter-preservation surgery. He has been an accredited Console Surgeon for the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System since 2009. Dr. Koh also specialises in the clinical management and surgical treatment of patients and families with hereditary colorectal cancers.

Education and Training

Dr. Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and obtained his Fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, FRCS (Glasg), in 1999. After completing his Advanced Specialty Training in General Surgery in 2003, Dr. Lim was conferred a SGH Fellowship to further his training in management of functional defaecatory disorders and minimally invasive colorectal surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. Upon returning from Australia in 2005, Dr. Lim worked as a consultant in the Department of Colorectal Surgery, SGH.

Dr. Lim has a strong interest in minimally invasive colorectal surgery. He is adept at laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery including single incision (single keyhole) colorectal surgery. He is also one of the few surgeons in Singapore accredited to do Robotic Colorectal Surgery.
Dr. Lim is also an expert in the management of patients with functional defaecatory problems such as faecal incontinence and obstructed defaecation syndrome. For patients suffering from complex functional disorders of the pelvis, Dr. Lim provides a holistic, multi-disciplinary clinical service.
